Traditional strategic planning is at best about incremental changes or improvements along a current path. But in times of significant change or disruption it is important to consider:

Is our strategy appropriate to address the changes that are taking place? or

Do we need to make bigger shifts in order to survive and thrive, into the future?

Contemporary strategy formation is about making hard-to-reverse strategic choices that drive big shifts and shape future success. Strategic planning is about how we make these choices happen. Ultimately, to be effective, strategy needs to be about genuine insights and new ideas gained by busting through biases and assumptions that may be holding us back.

This session is focused on the formation of strategy and is developed around:

  • Shifting the mindset and starting different conversation about strategy
  • Acknowledging the human realities of developing quality strategy for an uncertain future
  • Identifying key environmental trends and changing government agendas around sport that might drive your big shift/s
  • Crafting a big shift strategy driving long term results into the future.
