2019 LOCAL SPORT STAR AWARDS

Published Fri 29 Mar 2019

QUEST Community News will again celebrate the best achievements of junior athletes and teams across Brisbane, Logan, the Redlands and Moreton regions this year with the Local Sports Stars Awards.

Commonwealth Games Australian representatives, Riley Day (2017) and Ariarne Titmus (2018) won the past two Local Sports Stars awards, highlighting the talent thriving in our districts.

The award categories include Junior Sports Star, Team of Excellence, Inspiration Award and Service to Sport.

Nominees must have been aged under 18 years with the exception of the Service to Sport award which is an open age category.

“When I found out I was nominated for this award and I saw who the other nominees were I was blown away by the depth of young sporting talent we have coming through in Brisbane,’’ said Titmus, a St Peters Lutheran College past student.

Quest Local Sports Stars winners will then compete against the Local Sports Stars winners from around the state for the No.1 mantle.

Titmus and Day were state winners.

Quest Community Newspapers thanks our partners Golden Circle Factory Outlet, Netball Queensland, Griffith University and Triple M Brisbane.
