The final contenders for the 2024 Queensland Sport Awards and Hall of Fame Induction have been announced ahead of the major event on November 21, with outstanding teams, administrators, coaches and officials all in the running for recognition.

Hosted annually for almost 30 years, the Queensland Sport Awards celebrate the achievements of outstanding individuals and organisations within the Queensland sporting landscape.

Following the announcement of contenders in several categories last week - including Channel 9 2024 Queensland Athlete of the Year - CEO of QSport, Tim Klar, says QSport is delighted to announce the remaining finalists, all of whom have made Queensland proud this Olympic and Paralympic year.

“Once again, QSport is incredibly proud to host the 2024 Queensland Sport Awards and Hall of Fame Induction and to celebrate the amazing work of individuals, teams and organisations within the Queensland sporting community” said Klar.

“Queensland’s extraordinary talent is reflected across our award categories this year, and we are proud to announce the contenders across the remaining categories, each of whom are incredibly deserving of recognition.

“With less than a month to go until the annual event, we look forward to hosting the Queensland sporting community on what is sure to be a fantastic evening,” he said.

In the Health and Wellbeing Queensland 2024 Queensland Sport Team of the Year category, contenders include a range of teams who have reached the pinnacle of their respective sports. The Brisbane Lions AFL and AFLW Teams are in the running alongside the Australian Women 4x200m and 4x100m Freestyle Relay Teams, the Blaze Women's Hockey Team and the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons Women's Team.

Five teams from four sports are also contenders for the Sports Accounting Australia 2024 Queensland Junior Sport Team of the Year award, with the category sure to be hotly contested.

A community favourite, the Queensland Sport Volunteer of the Year award sees an array of deserving individuals from a range of sports up for the title. Each outstanding in their own right, having selflessly volunteered numerous hours for the benefit of their sport, the six finalists named each epitomise the spirit of volunteering which is the lifeblood of community sport.

Finalists in the Gallagher 2024 Queensland Sport Administrator of the Year, 2024 Queensland Sport Official of the Year and Queensland Government 2024 Queensland Sport Coach of the Year categories have also been released, with further information on each listed below.
