COVID-19 Industry update

Published Thu 10 Feb 2022

As you may have heard, earlier this week the Premier made a number of announcements regarding updates to the Public Health and Social Measure Direction. Some of which have an impact on the sport, recreation and fitness industry.

From the 7 February 2022, use of the Check In QLD app is no longer required where organisations are permitted to allow unvaccinated people to attend. This includes venues such as gyms, fitness centres, indoor sports centres, community facilities and major stadiums with less than 5000 seat capacity. This includes any outoor sport or community creation organisation that have opted to utilise the Check In QLD app.

However, where your organisation is only permitted to allow fully vaccinated people to attend, you must continue to collect contact information and proof of vaccination via the Check In QLD app. This includes any part of your venue that is considered a hospitality venue e.g. function centre or licensed area with seating, and major stadiums with capacity for 5000 or more visitors.

For more information on what's changed since 7 February 2022, please visit the Publich Health and Social Measures Direction.
