Athlete Wellbeing and Child Safe Sport Manager

The Manager, Athlete Wellbeing and Child Safe Sport role is a newly created role that will have a multi-faceted responsibility set, based around child safety, athlete wellbeing and the development of processes, procedures and education opportunities to ensure the development of all of our athlete, staff and volunteer workforce, ensuring that Child Safety is at the forefront of everything that we do. 

The role will be a National role, based in our Brisbane head office, but with some travel to other locations within Australia and potentially overseas.

A key factor in success in the role will be the ability to create engaging and collaborative relationships with a wide spectrum of people and groups.  

The role will report directly to the DA CEO. 

Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded. Candidates must be able to successfully complete Australia wide Working with Children and Police Checks.

The Manager, Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement / Child Safe Sport role has 2 key areas of focus, plus a third responsbility area, Stakeholder Wellbeing. 

Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement

The primary purpose of this aspect of the role will be to lead and manage DA’s athlete wellbeing and engagement framework and deliver associated services designed to improve an athletes’ ability to effectively navigate the critical transition points throughout and beyond their sporting career. 

Child Safe Sport

Child safety is at the forefront of everything we do and all of our stakeholders (athletes, staff, volunteers etc) are required to continually have child safety front of mind. This role is responsible for working with the CEO to ensure that we have in place best practice policy and procedures, and that we continually are providing resources and education to our stakeholders to assist them to ensure child safety.
