Former Australian and Commonwealth light welterweight boxing champion who had 87 professional fights from 1970-80 for 73 wins (27 knockouts), 12 losses and two draws. Born in Kempsey, NSW, he made his name in Brisbane and twice fought for the WBA title – against Roberto Duran in 1973 and Antonio Cervantes in 1975, losing both on TKO.
