When Ian Healy was plucked from club cricket to represent his country in 1989, no one would have guessed the heights to which he would climb.

In 1998, he broke the 17 year old record of Rod Marsh to become the most successful wicket-keeper in cricket history. Fittingly Healy made his 356th dismissal against Pakistan, the country he made his debut against nine years earlier.

But his peerless work behind the stumps is not the only contribution Healy makes to his side. A gritty and entertaining batsman who has scored four Test centuries, he is also the consummate team-man who has served as Australia’s vice-captain with distinction.
