Robbed of the chance to win Olympic gold because of the boycott of the Moscow Olympics, swimmer Tracey Wickham nonetheless dominated her sport and recorded times which would still be world ranked almost 20 years later.
In the late 1970’s she set five world records, one of which lasted 9½ years. She won world titles at 400m and 800m and four Commonwealth Games gold medals and was judged Australia’s best athlete in 1978.
