QSport Announces Appointment of Acting CEO

QSport is delighted to announce the appointment of Shantel Netzler as Acting CEO, ensuring a smooth transition as Tim Klar prepares for his departure while the Board continues recruiting for the permanent role.

Shantel brings an impressive track record in sport administration, most recently serving as CEO of Squash Queensland, where she led the organisation to 95% growth in affiliated clubs and secured the first major increase in sport funding in two decades.

With proven strengths in building partnerships, driving inclusive participation, and advocating for grassroots engagement, Shantel will advance QSport’s commitment to its members and maintain focus on delivering an exceptional Queensland Sport Awards and Hall of Fame Induction event on November 27th in Brisbane.

On her appointment, Shantel said: “I’m excited to step into the Acting CEO role at QSport and work with our members as we head toward the flagship Awards event. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful collaboration within our sport communities can be, and I look forward to bringing that energy and commitment to serve Queensland’s diverse sporting organisations”.
