Exploring Values‑Led Sport Leadership: Thinking with Brené Brown’s Strong Ground (2025)
“In the midst of deep uncertainty and the overwhelm of experiencing bluster, hubris, and even cruelty being framed as an increasingly acceptable form of leading, this book is about actionable and tactical insights that make explicit the mindsets and skill sets we need to reclaim our focus and power growth while leading from a place of connection, discipline, and accountability.”  Brene Brown Podcast discussions of the book here

We kick off the new seminar series with a face to face ‘book club’ style conversation about Brene Brown’s new book that explores the personal and professional dimensions of leadership practice. Drawing on sport metaphors her work invites us to reflect on how we embody a values led approach? The seminar will begin with a reflection on key aspects of the book that speak to each panel member – Shantel Netzler (QSport), Simone Fullagar & Adele Pavlidis (SAGE). We will then break into small groups to listen and discuss insights about how we mobilise leadership ideas and practices in moving towards a more gender equitable sport sector.

You do not need to have read the book or own a copy to attend.
