QSport is supporting Brisbane City Council with the development of the City’s Legacy Plan in anticipation of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Entitled Brisbane: Making Our Mark, the project to develop the plan is focused on ensuring that the Games will leave a lasting positive impact on local residents, businesses, and the broader community. QSport is Pillar Partner for the ‘Active, Healthy and Inclusive’ pillar within the Plan and this week collaborated with Council to deliver a Pillar workshop for leaders and stakeholders from across the sport, recreation and physical activity ecosystem.

The workshop was a key element of the Plan’s development and Councillor Krista Adams, alongside influential members of the City of Brisbane Legacy Committee—David Lutteral and Kerry Xynias—played pivotal roles in steering the discussion. These leaders, known for their contributions to both sport and community development, engaged with attendees in discussions about the lasting impact of the Games.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and insights, and develop innovative solutions that will shape the city’s future.

The primary focus of the session was on how the city can build long-term sporting and community benefits from the 2032 Games. By addressing key areas such as accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability, the workshop highlighted the importance of creating a legacy that extends beyond the Games themselves.

QSport is dedicated to ensuring that the 2032 Games help cultivate a thriving sports culture for all ages and abilities and a network of accessible facilities and spaces that welcome and enable participation.

As the City ramps up its preparations for Brisbane 2032, QSport will continue to connect the sporting community with opportunities to shape Games planning and enduring legacy benefits.
