From grassroots to the global stage, Queensland’s emerging stars, administrators, officials, volunteers, teams, elite athletes and legends will be recognised at the 2025 Queensland Sport Awards and Hall of Fame induction at the Plaza Ballroom, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, on Thursday November 27, proudly supported by the Queensland Government.

In 2025, Queensland athletes and teams delivered standout performances. Junior sporting teams claimed national titles, while junior and senior Para-athletes collected US Open victories, national championships, world titles and set new national records.

Two of the nation’s biggest clubs lifted premiership trophies, with the Brisbane Broncos winning both NRL and NRLW, while the Brisbane Lions secured back-to-back AFL flags. Queensland’s dominant volleyball program continued its golden run, and the Maroons added another memorable State of Origin win.

The dedication of the state’s volunteers, officials and administrators will also be celebrated along with innovation across the sports industry.

Twelve outstanding athletes are in contention for Athlete of the Year after shining on the world stage—winning world championships, national titles, breaking records and inspiring fans across the globe. Queensland’s best excelled in swimming (Cameron McEvoy OAM, Kaylee McKeown OAM, Mollie O’Callaghan OAM), diving (Cassiel Rousseau) and motorcycling (Jett Lawrence), while at home there were national victories in athletics (Gout Gout), a Brownlow Medal (Matt Rowell), a State of Origin triumph (Tom Dearden) and starring premiership performances in both NRL (Reece Walsh, Tamika Upton) and AFL (Harris Andrews, Will Ashcroft).

The evening will also honour some of Queensland’s most iconic competitors as they are inducted into the Queensland Sport Hall of Fame. Ian Healy AO will be elevated to ‘Legend of Queensland Sport’, joining new inductees former World No. 1 and three-time Grand Slam champion Ash Barty AO, rugby league greats Rod and Des Morris OAM, Rugby World Cup winner Daniel Herbert and Test fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz.
