10-15 minutes
Who is conducting the survey?
Business Chamber Queensland on behalf of QSport
What is the purpose of the survey?
The Queensland Sport Industry Remuneration and Benefits Survey aims to collect workforce information to support sector-wide benchmarking of remuneration, benefits, workforce demographics, recruitment and retention practices, and workforce planning. The findings will provide valuable insights to help inform workforce development, organisational planning and industry advocacy.
Why is this survey important?
The Queensland sport industry competes for talent with government, education, not-for-profit and commercial sectors. To remain an employer of choice, it is important to understand how the industry compares in relation to remuneration, benefits, workforce conditions and career opportunities. This survey will help establish a sector-wide benchmark and identify opportunities to strengthen workforce attraction, retention and long-term sustainability.
Why should I participate?
Participation helps build a stronger evidence base for the Queensland sport industry. The more responses received, the more meaningful and representative the benchmarking and workforce insights will be. All responses are anonymous and reported in aggregated form only.
Does the survey only focus on remuneration and benefits?
No. While remuneration and benefits are an important focus, the survey also gathers information relating to workforce demographics, employment arrangements, recruitment and retention, and future workforce planning.
Why are individuals being surveyed rather than organisations submitting workforce data?
The survey has been designed to capture workforce information directly from individuals, including employment arrangements, benefits, career intentions and workforce experiences. This provides a broader understanding of workforce trends across the sector. Future approaches to workforce benchmarking may be considered following completion of the project.
How will the survey data be analysed?
The survey collects information across a range of organisational, demographic, employment and remuneration variables, enabling a variety of sector-wide analyses. The final reporting approach will be informed by response rates, data quality and the need to maintain respondent confidentiality.
What if I don’t know the answer to every question?
Some organisation-related questions are marked “if known” and recognise that not every respondent will have access to all information. Participants are encouraged to answer the questions they can and provide information to the best of their knowledge.
How should part-time employees answer the remuneration questions?
The survey accommodates a range of employment arrangements, including permanent and fixed-term part-time employment. Respondents can provide annual salary and/or hourly rate information, together with average weekly hours where applicable.
Will my responses remain confidential?
Yes. Responses are anonymous and confidential. Survey findings will be reported in aggregated form only, ensuring individual respondents cannot be identified.
Who will have access to the survey results?
A final report will be produced and made publicly available. Individual responses will remain confidential and will not be identifiable in any reporting.
