IMPORTANT UPDATE: Early closure of Round 1 of the Game On: Teaming up for Climate Action program

Please note an important update to the Australian Government’s ‘Game On: Teaming Up for Climate Action’ program which opened for applications at 2pm on 1 July 2026. Applications were scheduled to close on 28 July 2026, however, due to a high demand for the program, funding capacity will likely be exceeded.

As indicated in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines, and the DCCEEW and GrantConnect websites, Round 1 may close earlier than 28 July 2026 if funding capacity has likely been exceeded. Due to funding likely being exceeded for Round 1 grants, Round 1 of the program will now close to applications at 9.00 PM (AEST) on Monday 13 July 2026.

Round 1 is an open non-competitive round where eligible applications are assessed again the assessment criteria. Where maximum allocations are exceeded or demand has exceeded funding capacity for the round, applications will be considered in the order of application receipt.

It is currently anticipated that Round 2 of the program will open to applications in early 2027. Details for Round 2 will be provided on GrantConnect prior to opening for applications.
