Queensland Spirit: A New Strategy Shaping Sport on the Road to 2032
The Queensland Government has released Queensland Spirit: The Road to 2032, a new statewide strategy designed to strengthen community sport, supporting athletes, and build a long-term legacy as Queensland prepares for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Developed through extensive consultation with Queenslanders; including 2,000 survey responses, 90 written submissions, and community forums across nine regional centres – the strategy outlines a clear plan to grow participation, improve infrastructure, and position Queensland as the home of Australian sport.

- Grassroots Infrastructure Investment.
- Club Grants.
- Disaster Recovery Support.
The Home of Australian Sport
- Funding to attract major sporting organisations and events to Queensland.
- Record investment and funding certainty for sporting organisations through the new Sporting Partnerships Fund.
This aims to grow Queensland’s reputation as a national sporting hub.
Play on! – Supporting Kids and Talent Pathways
- $200 Sports Vouchers to help more children participate in sport.
- Play On! Learn to Swim vouchers of up to $150 for eligible children aged 0-4.
- A new Grassroots to Gold program to strengthen talent pathways.
This priority supports families, encourages participation, and builds future champions.
Beyond 2032 – Expanding Access and Opportunities
- Collaboration across government, private and community sectors to unlock more places and spaces for Queensland to get active.
- New initiatives to promote the positive impact of sport.
- Expansion of Sport HQ to better support volunteers.
This priority focused on long-term sustainability and community benefit beyond the Games.
A Legacy for Queensland Communities
The strategy aims to deliver greater participation, improved accessibility, stronger pathways, and enhanced infrastructure – ensuring Queenslanders benefit from the momentum of Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
